Yandruwandha is located in the far north east of the state of South Australia, crossing into Queensland.
Yandruwandha lies east of the Diyari language, north of the Pirlatapa language, and south of the Yawarawarka language.
Yandruwandha is closely related to Yawarrawarrka. There are three dialects in Yandruwandha: Strezlecki, Nhirrpi and Biraliba.
