ARABANA PT AUGUSTA LANGUAGE CLUB

August 8, 2017

The Arabana community in Pt Augusta has recently formed an Arabana language club, with the aim to share and learn language together. The sessions are facilitated by Chris Warren, a local school teacher with a background in the language. A number of community members including Arabana speakers as well as students from the local high school are participating in the sessions on a weekly basis.

The club has been drawing upon online Arabana language lessons developed by the MLT, which includes voice recordings and worksheets, to assist with pronunciation and to learn new vocabulary.

Attendees have said that the club sessions have helped them to gain confidence with Arabana language and they have been able to share language at home with their family.

If you are interested in attending the language club please get in contact with Chris Warren (08 8647 3300) for more information. The club sessions are free of charge and currently run on Mondays, 2:30-4:00pm at the University of Adelaide Pt Augusta campus.
