In 2022 Garryn Wingfield undertook a training course in language revival work at the Mobile Language Team at the University of Adelaide.
Garryn is a Kokatha man from Port Augusta with a deep interest in language and culture and working towards building a sustainable language future for the Kokatha people.
Working with his elders and senior linguists at the Mobile Language Team, Garryn is learning the hands on skills needed to work with his language and develop learning resources that can be used by others in the community.
Pathways to Langauge Revival is an ongoing project run by the Mobile Language Team with funding from Indigenous Langauges and Arts as well as partner Aboriginal corporations.
